Mon Ami Takes Part in The Swineshead Village Scarecrow Trail
At our Swineshead nursery, we have made and entered not one, not two but THREE scarecrows for the Swineshead Scarecrow Trail, a fundraising event for St. Mary's Church in the village which has been organised by former parent Suzanne Welberry.
The children have been so engaged with this all week and we have had so many ideas.
We settled on making our late Queen Elizabeth’s friend Paddington Bear and also Harry O’Hay and Betty O’Barley from one of our favourite stories, ‘The Scarecrows’ Wedding’ by Julia Donaldson.
We carefully stuffed our scarecrow bodies and had lots of fun throwing the straw around!
We hope you are all as impressed as we are with the children’s efforts - we think they did such a fantastic job!

In the hopes of raising more money for the church, the children are going on a Sponsored Walk around the village with our scarecrow in tow in the week commencing 26th September! All donations are gratefully received and will go towards the upkeep of the building and its grounds.
Since our establishment in 2002, St. Mary's Church has hosted us for our annual nativities and various other events throughout the years, so it is brilliant to be able to show our support for such a special and welcoming place.
