Latest changes to Covid 19 guidelines and restrictions

There have been some sigificant changes to the Government guidelines and expectations and these came into effect on 16th August 2021.

The main change for families and Nurseries is regarding self isolation guidelines when identified as a close contact.

Anyone that is now double vaccinated and over the age of 18 years and 6 months and those that are under the age of 18 years and 6 months now do NOT need to isolate of they have been identified as a close contact with someone that has Covid 19.

However, if anyone does test positive for Covid 19, they will be required to isolate for the recommended time.

NHS Test and Trace will now be responsible for contact tracing rather than the setting and should we have a case identified at the nursery we will write and inform all families with a general advice letter.

However, it is still vitally important that anyone that has a new, continuous cough, a high temperature or a change to or loss of sense of taste and/or smell must seek a PCR test for confirmation and isolate until the results have been received.

If a child develops a cough or has a high temperature whilst at Nursery they will be asked to be collected and a PCR test taken. A negative Lateral Flow Test is not sufficient to enable a child to return to Nursery.
